Study Abroad
Cambridge Maymester 2018
After I completed my spring 2018 semester, I was fortunate enough to be able to study at the Department of Mathematics and Applied Physics at the University of Cambridge for a “Maymester”, which is a month study abroad during the beginning of the summer. I did so with my peers who are all biomedical engineers as well, and stayed with a host family in Cambridge, England during my time there.
This was an amazing experience as we were able to travel to Barcelona, London, and Amsterdam on the weekends during our time here and I was able to make lifelong friends and develop an amazing relationship with my professor, his family, and faculty at the University of Cambridge. I learned so much not only in the “Transport Phenomena” class I took abroad here, but also culturally about England and Spain and the Netherlands during my time visiting there.
I learned and experienced so much that I would not have been able to in a typical classroom setting on campus and I believe my experience will help me immensely in my future endeavors within my career. This is an experience I will never forget, and that I am grateful to have been able to take advantage of during my time at the University of Texas at Austin.
